No loyalty in the coaching profession anymore. He did it to OM. And as much as liked seeing those assholes getting fricked, it was eventually going to catch up with him. It should have caught up with him a few years ago during Petrinogate.

Didn't Auburn run off Pat Dye?

How many noncoaching coaches does Auburn have on the payroll now?

Auburn did not run off Dye. The NCAA was closing in and he left it to tater tot. Dye was a smart man.

This is a sad day for the SEC. I freaking hated it when Tubbs beat us. But God that man can coach and get his players up for a big game.

No. He stepped down voluntarily to lessen the impending NCAA sanctions - which worked by the way. He is actually still an influential person at AU and still maintains an office in Beard Eves under the arena.

Its amazing how the coaching in the SEC has become more about winning and allowing hoodlums and ghetto thugs run rampid amidst the Universities, rather than having good solid teams with coaches who actually care about their teams. They dont want a players coach, oh no, that makes too much since. Everyone CANNOT have a winning season every year and win SEC titles. Statisticly it is NOT POSSIBLE. I just guess I am old School and miss that passion the athletic directors and boosters cared about. Sure it is great to win, but even for those who are powerhouses soon find their way down a winding demise. Hence USC annd OSU, even the great LSU. Dunno, I almost feel like I am watching a bad episode of "Wife Swap, the SEC"

I agree...it is almost hard to believe that Coach Bryant was at Alabama for 24 years. That would never happen in college football today at a bigtime program. The way things are today coach bryant would have been fired when he change to the wishbone and it took two years to implement the system. Had he been fired during that time we would have never seen what he did in the seventies. For the record he won 10 SEC championships and 3 NC in the seventies after two bad years of changing to the wishbone. Today he would have been fired and that is pathetic.
