LSU Defense or lack of will ultimately cost LSU this game on Saturday. Run run , fake run hit slant all night. We have no secondary. Congratulations to elephant fans on the win.
come on dude, there is clearly a path to victory for LSU with that offense.

The thing with this LSU team is, i wouldnt be surprised if they won by 2 TDs or lost by 2 TDs.
I love watching this offense, but when that is your bread and butter, your going to have a game where its just not clicking. Hope this isnt it.

Alabama will have the referee advantage.

I believe this is wholly false.
Better coaching, sure, but less meaningful talent and experience at key positions, IMHO.
They've shown tremendous growth and resilience. I think they have the opportunity to be good. Just keep plugging away.

Alabama is worse at QB and LT than 2022. On paper, they're worse off at OLB because they lost Will Anderson to the draft but Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell hardly led to a drop off in production.
The big story for Alabama since the 2020 season has been recruiting misses or busts at DL, OL, and WR. The DL problem preceded the 2020 season by a bit too. They've recruited well but maybe missed on a guy they really wanted or the guy they wanted ended up being a head case or not capable of making the jump to college ball like projected. This is the story for all three of those position groups.
Alabama is starting Proctor at LT despite not being physically ready for college because essentially every tackle prospect of the last 2-3 years has transferred out due to poor performance.
Ja'Corey Brooks may be the only class of 2020 or 2021 WR left on the roster and he's been passed up by a JUCO and true freshman. He's a special teams player now.
Defense line has been a consistent problem with misses for about 5 years now. I think this is the area where having Smart recruiting the same body types has actually affected Alabama's roster.
The thing that is a positive for this team is it seems that these trends have started reversing themselves in the last two recruiting cycles. The 2022 and 2023 classes seem to have far more hits than misses at these positions. It is already showing up at WR and DL.
Alabama has reasserted itself as a defense that is immoveable at the point of attack. Oatis, Keenan, and James Smith seem like great linemen in the making. Alabama's WRs are big play threats again and the vibe on Bond, Prentice, Law, and Hale seems to be they could lead a great receivers room in 2024. This year will be complimenting the veteran Burton but he's also looked a ton better than 2022. Guess he got serious about it with the young guns pressing him for playing time (Brooks did not get the memo apparently).
We'll know a lot more about Alabama late Saturday night though. Are they good enough everywhere else to make up for the fact they're worse off at QB and LT.

I know this sounds crazy but I feel this way as well. Bryce, admittedly, wasn't very good last year and Will was used incorrectly most of the season. Now, I don't believe for a second that Jalen is better than Bryce, I just think those around Jalen are playing better. Cam Latu was a huge liability on offense and Jhamyr Gibbs wasn't the back bama needed. The defense, well, it was awful late in games. I do believe Dallas Turner is playing better than Anderson played at any point last year.

Turner and Braswell get to play with a DC who lets them rush the edge instead of constantly twisting them into a guard+center double team. Anderson would already have double digit sacks and probably lead the nation playing in this scheme.

Yep, they’re the favorites

plus 10 in time of possession in favor of Bama
Ole Miss tried this but LSU defense allowed 30 broken open field tackles on 12 possessions, with many resulting In long TD’s so it put a damper on the plans

LSU has the QB advantage, we have a better DL than LSU's OL, but LSU has better WRs than the secondary we have. Daniels is the best opposing QB we have played since Burrow. And, I believe Daniels will be the 2nd QB taken in this upcoming NFL draft.
I don't like this match-up for us.

LSU Advantages: Better QB, Better WRs.
Bama Advantages: Better Defense, Home Field, Nick Saban
I think Bama takes it because they are playing at home.

The nice thing is just knowing when you have great QB play you can beat anyone any given day....if the defense can just hold up SOME.
Unfortunately, I agree with your statement ... Daniels is extremely talented, with many weapons.

Holy shite
The thing that is wild here is identifying Gibbs and Latu as the problem rather than mediocre interior OL play and WRs that simply could not get open.
Latu was mediocre at best but Gibbs was frankly underutilized due to poor scheme and mediocre OL play.
