No, I'm not saying Bama should hire one of these guys but I'm talking HCs out there who seem to get the most of what they have to work with:

1. Kyle Whittingham-His teams are always tough, play extremely hard and are well coached. He doesn't get the best talent but he gets the most out of his guys. Very blue collar teams.

2. Jonathan Smith-Oregon State-when he took over, Oregon State was HORRIBLE when he took over and has them playing well. He's worked miracles with DJ U, who I thought was HORRENDOUS at Clemson. He, like Whittingham, doesn't get the best talent but seems to get a lot of what he has.

3. Willie Fritz-Tulane-the guy's been a winner everywhere he's been. Worked miracles with Tulane, who were God awful when he arrived.

Did I miss anyone?

I wouldn’t be surprised if ASU’s Dellingham is a big name in a few years

He came into a program that had not won more than 3 games in a season in nearly 15 years and has put them in back-to-back bowl games and won multiple games against highly ranked opponents. Before that he was at Buffalo, a team that had managed three winning seasons since the late 80s. He had three winning seasons in a row, including the first ever ten win season in their history. Definitely the most underrated coach in college football imo.
