It got taken down, but ouch. The offense is already not very talented, but trust issues are glaring. The coaches haven’t helped either; like they’re afraid to hurt anyone’s feelings. Pick a QB and stick with it.

Sounds like Freeze may need to clean house and start over. #9 might need to be the first out the door.

If it continues this way, need some cleaning in the coaching staff too. I feel like the trust between Monty and Hugh is breaking down, and I think Hugh either needs someone like Kent Austin as OC, or he just needs to call plays and hire a QB Coach.

Defensively, we’re pretty bad. The blitzing and pressuring we did early in the season masked that, but it’s exposed now. Too early to say if Ron Roberts is doing a good job.

We aren’t to silly season yet. Let’s all step back from the ledge. Silly season doesn’t start until after Bama. Let’s get through the season before we start kicking players or coaches to the curb

I just want whichever guy starting that will help us secure high profile wide receivers. If it is Thorne we gotta ride with Thorne. Thorne is just a bridge and I am content with riding his arse out.

3 of those Ashford TDs were first game too right? I would personally rather have ashford out there running it but you have to fricking pick one. This back and forth does nothing but stall drives and divide the team. Neither are great. Much less good. Just choose one and go with em for a whole game.

it has to be Ashford at this point. Thorne has played himself out of the role imo. If Freeze sticks with Thorne, he will lose the team. Clearly the players want Robby. Give them Robby and let the chips fall where they may

It is unbelievable that this university can basically go like 10 years without having a decent wide receivers coach, and just virtually no talent at the positions. I swear there is something in the water that turns decent coaches stupid in Auburn. I am just sort of surprised though, Freeze had been busting his arse off in recruit, so I figured it would spill over into game prep.

Upon second consideration I am only wanting Ashford to start if he can run the full offense currently known as the Payton Thorne offense. Freeze wants to pass, so there is no reason why we should be going to remedial ball in year one. We have a 5* WR committed as well and future is looking up. We really need to weather the storm here. The transition from RBU to Beaver ball will be bumpy. Let's ride.

The temptation to ride the season out with ashford ball isnt even very tempting. Freeze needs to stick to his principles and make our WRs happy.

Was it posted today?

I don't know about Auburn, but there may be team meetings on Sunday and this may be a signal that RA is getting the keys next week.

That kind of a thing could very easily have come up in a Sunday meeting, Keionte knows his guy is getting the keys this week, and was excited about it. Then he gets a "WTF are you doing" internally because that's info for opposing teams.

That said - it could just be open revolt against PT within the team... if so, pretty shitty signal to do it publicly, but it can happen.

You guys do realize the players voted Thorne a team captain, correct?

Sure they may be a few guys that have faith in Robby more then Thorne.

I don't know the answer however I do know this QB situational stuff looks like garbage.

I would like to see a couple weeks where the team game plan is to be offense not protect defense. You protect the defense in my opinion by scoring. Slowing everything down to a snails pace and trying to milk the clock. I want to see the Freeze offense with pace.

For whatever reason the team doesn’t want Thorne. And it’s not like he’s head and shoulders above Ashford. Neither are good.

Ride Robby
