If you had to choose between a duck goose hunt in the southwest rice fields or the north east La delta what would you choose and why?

We had some good goose hunts in SW LA last year. That'd be my vote.

SW LA is good when you hit it just right. One day could be lights out the next not good. Did several geese hunts in SW LA. Mixed bag honestly. I want to say around $250 a gun a hunt was the going price. A lot of outfitters in SW LA make there money during teal season anything after that is extra money.

Because I have heard the only good mallard reports over the last few years there.

Well a speckle belly is the only goose worth eating, so duck hunt for me.

Is Saskatchewan in the NE LA Delta? If it is I'd go there. If it ain't I'd go to Sask.

I remember when ducks used to visit here.

I’ve always had more success on specklebellys over there, but it really depends on the location. Big duck season hasn’t been what it used to be.

I’ve got some buddies that wore that arse out last year in Wilmot, AR. Best year they had in a while. That’s all I got.

Shot more mallards this past year in CenLa than the last probably 5 years and the usual pintails and cans always in abundance, but saw buddies pictures from NELA with tons of "desired big ducks" from last season. Hit or miss I am sure.
