Listen to me and listen to me good. You will be tempted by local dogs, there are a few good breeding's that happen in Louisiana, there are some good dogs but very few finished dogs for sale. For the most part you need to travel to get the dog with the potential that you are looking for in a dog. You will spend money but a well breed GSP is a great companion at the house and in the field, and a bad is, well pretty damn bad. Pick the traits you want in a dog and then find the breeders that produce those dogs. Don't go buy an all age field trail dog if you are hunting thick stuff in Louisiana. If you duck hunt from time to time get one with strong retrieving and water.

I would skip the cruise, 3 days in a city, train to next city, 3 days, train to next city 3 days and fly home. You won’t get much out of those cruise stops

Hidden gem's typically have limited flights. Hard to do quick with limited flights in and out...
