This past weekends cook. Trying some new and some old things. We are going to the game this weekend and tailgating this week. So going to precook on Friday to bring to the tailgate. Looking for some new ideas for tailgate food. Any suggestions?

Can you give us a 360* view of your cooker? Doors, knobs, grates, hatches, vents, lids, etc?

Just my humble guess but maybe a Weber kettle 22" modified so a 2nd grate could be added on top?
If so, nice idea and I love a Weber kettle...
ETA... Nevermind, I see BBQ replied but I think I've got a new idea for my kettle...

Gotta make some ABTs, Atomic Buffalo Turds.
Great tailgate food if you like spicy food.

No corn on the cob roasting? We raise corn in our garden and put enough in the freezer to eat it at least once a week even when we have eight for dinner on Monday nights.

Drop a Boston butt on a smoker. Never gets old and you have to try hard to mess it up.

bbqdawg - do you do Eggtoberfest each year from Big Green Egg? It's this Saturday at Coolray Field in Buford where the Gwinnett Stripers play.
I don't know what part of the state you're in, but it's always a good time - especially when we have a night kick this week on the day of the event.
Same goes for the rest of y'all - it's a little pricey for a one day event, but historically the swag bag has been worth it alone, and the pro chef demonstration stage is where it's at. I swear they used a lobster tail the size of a football for their Mac & cheese last year. That's where Mrs Vox and I camp out the whole time.
We do a lap of the amateur cooking team's tents down on the field, but the food is nowhere near as good as the pros do in their demos.

I've been to a couple of them. This weekend we will in Athens. I like the backyard cooker division but not when the backyard cooker shows up with $2k in meat and other food in the cooler.

And I feel bad spending over 100 bucks for an USDA prime, packer brisket.

Have yet to meet anyone who doesn't like these (outside of those who think black pepper is too spicy). I like to use andouille instead of smokies.
Charcuterie, man. Can get expensive to do it right but they're truly perfect for a tailgate. Some cured meats, a few cheeses, fancy arse crackers, lil' fruit, couple mustards/sauces, some nuts, etc. Kind of a bougie reputation but, if you can get past your buddies talking shite about your "fancy platter", they're always a hit and don't require a ton of effort or cooking.

Yep, sometimes I will use spicy breakfast sausage (cooked and crumbled), mix it with the cream cheese and add a some pecan rub (like Meat Church's Deez Nuts) to the mix. I also don't cut them in half but remove the stem end and scoop out the seeds and veins, if I'm feeling nice, and just stuff the whole pepper. Then just finish them like bbqdawg does.
I do use Andouille when smoking pig shots though.

Last year my sister had a gameday cookout and at the last minute dropped that the food "theme" this week was charcuterie. And wanted to have several different variations. Needless to say I was not pleased and entered my "Keeping it real" board for the judging. I like the way it turned out.
