Alright, let's recap what happened last week...
Ole Miss came into Tuscaloosa thinking that they might kill the king when he's down. Turns out, the king was not done yet and sent Ole Miss' sorry asses packing their bags back to Mississippi.
This week Bama faces a familiar foe, Mississippi State. Bama hopes to win a matchup they might not see frequently again, and Bama hopes to send State a farewell message that they will not forget. The Tide brings out their swords to attack the castle filled to the brim with cowbells and cheese?
An obligatory phrase must be uttered by Tide and Dawgs alike: RIP Coach Leach, our favorite Pirate.
Series History:
These teams have met 107 TIMES, with the series record being 87–17–3 BAMA.
The Crimson Tide currently have a 15-game winning streak against the Rebels, and are looking to make it 16-straight.
Mississippi State has not won a game against Alabama when Alabama is ranked during the matchup.
Past Season Results for the Grinders:
2022: 9-5; #20
2021: 7-6
2020: 4-7
2019: 6-7
2018: 8-5; #25 (wins vacated though)
Scouting the Other Side:
State's HC: Zach Arnett. Leach's DC at Miss. State before his passing and became interim HC for their bowl game against Illinois. He played football at New Mexico and previously was the DC at SDSU.
State's OC: Kevin Barbay. Formerly the App State OC - known for putting video game numbers on UNC's defense.
State's DC: Matt Brock. Formerly the LB coach at State before getting promoted to DC by Zach Arnett. He also was the OLB and Strength coach for Wash. State during Leach's tenure there.

108 consecutive years. Hard to believe…

And the SEC is willing to just toss that aside like it’s nothing. Pisses me off.

Really hope we come out looking like the Bama team from the 2nd half against Ole Miss!

This is a really good opportunity for us to build on what we saw in the second half last week. I hope we take advantage of it and play a solid game.

Over/under that we kickoff at 8:15?

I pray we don’t. Who plays before us?

Pretty sure it’s LSU v Ole Miss. They will probably start the game on ESPN Ocho and move it over once the LSU/OM game is over.

Looking forward to it. SEC road game. Should be tough but good. I miss Mike Leach. I've got a lot of heavy stuff going on today. Will be nice to sit down this evening and watch Alabama. RTR.

Man I wish he was the OC here

Miss State is absolutely horrible on defense. If we don’t hang 40 on them I’m going to be disappointed.
