CBS got a discount for years from the SEC and didn’t want to match the ABC/ESPN bid. Not sure what Sankey is supposed to do?

he should have broken the contract up and bid it out like the BIG10 did. instead we have shitastic quality broadcast like was saw in bama vs usf.

This definitely was attempted, CBS presumably offered less. Fox is already in bed with the B1G, so not sure they would’ve jumped in. That leaves NBC who is doing a single game a week of B1G in addition to their Notre Dame deal.

None of those options have the distribution reach of ABC + ESPN. Fox could get close enough probably, but once again, we have no idea if they would be willing to go in on the SEC after putting their eggs in the B1G basket.
