Is Kiffin trolling or is Robinson really running the D?

Context, just in case someone isn't familiar with the report:

(Ole Miss sports and recruiting)
Lane Kiffin said #OleMiss is preparing for an Alabama defense coordinated by Travaris Robinson and not Kevin Steele:
“We’ve been against Kevin a number of times. Worked with him at Alabama and against him at Auburn and LSU. There seems like there’s been a change there. I don’t know what happened after the Texas game, but our guys watching the TV copy and schematically in this last game, certainly seems like T-Rob’s now calling the defense. We played him before at South Carolina, so we’re preparing accordingly for him calling the defense. He’s done a good job, too, and they’ve got really good players.”

Gee wonder if anyone could have seen that Steele would be a shitty DC.

I don’t think Robinson is calling the plays. Steele is calling them from the booth and Robinson is probably the main guy signaling them in and talking to the defense on the sideline.

Saban just addressed this and said Steele is the DC.

What has Kiffin done to show he's even remotely ready to handle a job like Alabama?

Nothing. And I still think the clock is ticking before he implodes there the same way he has at every other stop in his career, most notably here when he cost Bama the 2016 title.

Look the coach after Saban is basically pre-fired. There are maybe 3 coaches who could come in and seamlessly continue the standard Saban has established and they aren't leaving their current jobs. So why not hire Kiffin and have an entertaining few years before he's fired? And hey Kiffin has potential so maybe he gets the Bama job and finally realizes his potential.

RT33 is correct. Kiffin is the correct hire.

Kiffin seems to be trolling. He is rattling our cage to “raise the anxiety” level with our jittery warriors. Hahaha.
He is fully capable of that.
Me pondering: What would happen if Goldings defense beats us?
Where would we Golding haters go?

he wants the bama defense "anxious" when they go against his offense.

Personally, I'd be good with him as HC as long as he can keep his nose clean OFF the field and not chase co-eds. Supposedly, he isn't chasing co-eds at OM these days. I also get the sense that he's matured a bit since he was in Tuscaloosa.
He's a really good offensive coach and as long he can pair himself with a good DC (NOT Pete Golding), I think he could do really well.
That said, I've been told that from one of the few people I know that have some "inside" connections that literally a few people on the Board of Trustees would have to die before Kiffin would be hired. The man eviscerated some bridges when he left Tuscaloosa. For that reason, I kind of doubt he'll get a look at the Alabama job anytime soon.

Ridiculous. They will walk in to a stacked roster with a premium recruiting situation. A competent successor should be able to have Alabama in the hunt every year the same way that Ryan Day has following Urban Meyer at Ohio State, Jimbo Fisher did following Bobby Bowden at Florida State, etc. etc. I've said it elsewhere - the only reason Bama was bad after Bryant retired was not because it was an impossible act to follow, it was because they hired back-to-back coaches who performed poorly at every stop in their careers. Even then, the strength of the program from the Bryant era actually ensured that Perkins and Curry were much more successful at Alabama than at any of their other stops.
