would rather have Moza on Sundays

Do you think our weekend starters will continue in their current order once we start conference series? Hess is definitely our #1, but I’m not sure if the Saturday & Sunday guys are set. Thoughts?

Instead of the Lee Tracy satellite view, I say we ask Hunter Johnson to livestream these games on YouTube. It would be more entertaining for sure.

McCann ends it with his second homer. 11-1 in 7 innings final. He is on fire to start the season

We aren't giving any of our bullpen guys a chance to pitch out of a stressful situation. We keep clubbing teams like they are baby seals.

TJ McCants is playing like an All American right now. Obviously not the best competition thus far, but this team can HIT

Need to get our weekend rotation figured out after Hess, but we have a little time for that still

I just hope we don’t hit a slump at the start of SEC play.

Our schedule is brutal from here on out outside of Lipscomb.

We have Indiana, Arizona, and Dallas Baptist in the tournament next weekend after a road game @UAB (sneaky good).

All 3 of those teams are great and 2 of them are ranked thus far. Going to be a fun year.

Another gorgeous day at the Joe. The first time we made it to the 7th inning stretch all weekend. The team heads to Birmingham Tuesday and will play at Regions Field for those in the area. (6 pm first pitch)

Alabama baseball earned a weekend sweep of Valparaiso thanks to an 11-1 win on Sunday afternoon at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The 17th-ranked Crimson Tide is now 8-0 on the young season.

Valparaiso got out front early for a second straight day, plating one run in the top of the first. Alabama answered with a two-spot in the home half and proceeded to score in six of the seven innings for the run-rule victory. The Tide tallied two runs apiece in the second, third, sixth and seventh with one run scored in the fourth for the final score of 11-1.

TJ McCants and Evan Sleight tied for the team lead in RBI with three apiece. McCants finished 2-for-5 with two home runs and two runs scored to go with his RBI, while Sleight led the Tide in hits thanks to a perfect 3-for-3 showing that included a walk and one run scored along with the RBI. Gage Miller and Will Hodo each tied for the lead in runs scored with three apiece, with Miller adding his third home run in as many games.

Greg Farone (1-0) got the win for UA, working his scheduled 3.0 innings. He allowed one run on two hits with five strikeouts in his shortened outing before handing it over to the bullpen. The trio of Austin Morris, Braylon Myers and Pierce George held Valpo scoreless over the final 4.0 frames while combining for five strikeouts.

From Head Coach Rob Vaughn
"This was obviously a really good end to a great weekend. We talk a lot about just trying to be a better version of ourselves – whether that means play better, play cleaner or be more efficient with what we are doing – and I thought we did that all weekend."
