Almost 70 years ago my dad was assaulted on a school bus. Had a 50s era glass jar shattered on his head, by someone twice his age. Shitty people have always been doing shitty things.

No they ain't. Jesus H fricking christ in a handbasket surely you are not of the opinion that 1st graders pulling knives and trying to rape their class mates is happening with any sort of frequency are you? If you are you really need to step away from wherever you are hearing that kind of silliness or, if it just popped in your head, talk to a professional. Irrational thoughts and fears can be crippling. Has a first grader pulled a knife and tried to rape someone? Probably. Has it ONLY happened in the last 20, 30, 40, 80, or 100 years? Probably as unlikely as it happening in any period frequently enough to drive anyone to a conclusion as to why it is happening.
