Assuming their stupid ND/Stanford/Cal/SMU flirtation actually voids the GOR and blows up the conference, who should the SEC take? My preference would be:
1) UNC-top hoops, academics
2) UVA-great academics, good baseball
3) Va Tech-football culture, regional w/TN, KY
4) NC State-partner for UNC
5) FSU-football, will go B1G if you don’t
6) Clemson-same
7) Ga Tech-former member, UGA partner, ATL
8) Louisville-hoops, KY partner, makes 24

My preference would be Notre Dame and North Carolina.

1) UNC-top hoops, academics doubt they would come as long as Brown is there and not a great fit
2) UVA-great academics, good baseball- see no advantage here
3) Va Tech-football culture, regional w/TN, KY-great regional rivalries also strong alum in the DMV market
4) NC State-better fit culturally and still delivers the NC TV market
5) FSU-football, will go B1G if you don’t-see no value in adding and lack being an AAU member so doubt the B10 either
6) Clemson-same reasons I listed for FSU
7) Ga Tech-no value
8) Louisville-no value
Nebraska is currently the only B10 school that is not an AAU member. When they were voted in to join the conference they were but lost their membership a few months before actually joining. They were still let in at that point with a hope they could rejoin. Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA are all members of AAU for research.

Assuming no ND (who would be a clear cut first).
(1) UNC
(2+3) Clemson and FSU
(4) VT
Allows the SEC to create and sell completing matchups. After those 4, I start losing interest quickly.
Miami, UVA, and NC State would be in the next groping.
No one after that adds any value.

Don't add any of them.
Only ones worth adding are Clemson and FSU (possibly Louisville to bridge the northern gap between UK and Mizzou) and down the line, they would all jump to the SEC at the first offer, even if they do join the BigTen right now

Y'all already added Texas. Add UNC to that mix and the SEC would cease to exist. Those two schools' arrogance alone would be insufferable to any conference.
