With perhaps the greatest home slate in the last 40 years upon us, I thought it might be worth it to dive into an under-discussed part of the Saban era : our absolute dominance at home.

97-5 since 2008

46-1 since 2016

49-1 in our last 50

20 straight wins

Our 5 losses over the last 15 seasons
- 2010 Auburn by 1 (14-0 National Champion, Heisman winner)
- 2011 LSU by 3 (13-1 National Runner Up)
- 2012 Texas A&M by 5 (11-2 #5, Heisman winner)
- 2015 Ole Miss by 6 (10-3 #9)
- 2019 LSU by 5 (15-0 National Champion, Heisman winner)

So in the last 15 years we've only lost 1 home game to a team that didn't play in the national title game or have the Heisman winner. We've only lost 1 home game to a team that didn't finish in the top 5, and we lost the turnover margin in that game 5-0 and lost by 6.

We lost 1 home game with Golding. We lost 0 home games with BoB. We lost 1 home game in 2 years of Sims/Coker at QB.

Long story short, you better be pretty dang good to beat us in Tuscaloosa under Saban, even against Alabama teams that may not be the scariest of the era. And something to keep in mind given how our schedule sets up this season.

One of the reasons I favor 2019 LSU over 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami,

Far better regular season and bowl game opponents.

The amount of tom-foolery in those 5 games is telling

It’s amazing some pundits have spent months telling of Alabama’s demise and predictions of 2-3 home losses. But when they’re proven wrong, few will own up to being so.

I made a fricking fool out of myself, and learned a valuable lesson, while in attendance for this shite charade.

My brother and I had great seats on the 50 yard line yet somehow we were sitting near 2 Auburn fans.

If you recall Arkansas had the lead against them in the 4th quarter that season before Auburn scored 28 points in the last 14 minutes of the game to blow them out.

After we went up 24-0 I turned to the Auburn guy next to me and said something along the lines of "It's over. We aren't Arkansas."

fricking oof.

I don't say jack shite until the clock hits zeroes now.

Every one of those losses was extremely frustrating.
The only loss that is somewhat acceptable was the 2019 LSU, but I even argue that one. Too many silly mistakes.
2010 has been discussed ad nauseum.
2011 - We learned the value of a kicker. Plus the catch/ int.
2012 aTm, we had our chances at the end, not even counting the bone head offsides on the aTm punt .
2015 Ole Miss. How many turnovers? Wasn't this also the game where the ball bounced off our defenders helmet and caught for a TD?

As Chad Kelly was being sacked and threw the ball up blindly. Just an absolute joke of a play.

Great post, good to see you're in mid-season form.

I gotta figure out my annual preseason troll uga thread. 1980 was my favorite thing ever on the rant. Hated to see it go.

Being in the CFP era NCG 6 of the last 8 seasons, let alone winning 50% of those, is another good one I saw today.

We're spoiled in the CNS era. Hard to appreciate it fully in the moment.
