I'm not sure how I feel about up tempo, when I want a strong offensive line. To me when you talk about up tempo you talk about weaker offensive lineman that can move faster. Sure I've seen the photos of our bigs being quite big, but is this going to change their ability to block a stronger defensive line. What are your thoughts on this direction?
Also I hope it's not what Malzahn considered up tempo the last few years he was here, that was like dumb and not that up tempo to me

Something between Malzahn's true HUNH and the plodding-meerkat shite at the end of his tenure will suit me.

Fortunately for us we know where that balance looks pretty: Heupel. And I hope Freeze has a similar strategy. I dont remember his offense much.
If we are just hurrying up to run the same play then HUNH is overrated...
If we are hurrying up with a few options at our command then maximum breakage of the defense is possible.

HUNH every play is dead with the new substitution rules giving the defense more opportunities to sub, and team have adjusted. I would assume Freeze will use it like most where once you rip a big play or get the defense on their heels, you ramp up the pace.

Spot on Jang. Very similar to what Heupel is running. Montgomery and Heupel are Bryles apprentices.

Hugh spent some time both in Tuscaloosa and Athens in an advisory role. I think Hugh and Kirby actually like each other.
Nick and Kirby knew the communication. That's why Hugh brought in Montgomery and recently stated they had changed the terminology. Fun thing is..... nobody knows what the hell these two men are going to draw up.

There is a lot of tape on Brother Freeze's offense. It's not meerkat but it is a quick RPO at times. I'm not familiar with Montgomery's offense though.

I hope he is more like Lebby than he is Kendall Briles as a playcaller. KB makes some of the more perplexing play calls in certain situations that I can remember seeing over the past few seasons while he's been at Arkansas.
