I understand Arkansas/Missouri to an extent, but I don't understand LSU/A&M at all. No idea why there is animosity there, unless there is history that I don't know about. It seems a little bit contrived.

There's plenty of history there, especially when LSU chickened out of playing them in the 90s and still owes them money.

Most of it is made up on this board. South Texas and South LA peeps are very similar generally get along well IRL.

It ain’t contrived. There are so many A&M and LSU co-workers, neighbors, etc. all over Texas. But in the real world everyone is cordial, it’s mainly just bragging rights.
I admit I had no idea how much LSU fans had strong feelings towards A&M until I saw them in the workforce. I think the annual game from the 80s-90s was a huge reason for it. Lot of history there.

I'm in my mid 40s and grew up (in BR) hearing Aggie jokes. I didn't know what an "aggie" was but thought they must be the dumbest creatures to ever walk the Earth. SEC rant confirmed that for me all these years later.
