It's just so bizarre and foreign to me.
I actually do see that mindset in small town Old Ags from Marshall or Lufkin or Longview.
The common denominator is that they graduated in the 60s or early 70s, are highly conservative, grew up in a Vietnam culture war era, and attended the school prior to its modernization and improvement of the athletic department.
Most folks from the late 80s on had the option to attend both schools and were raised on David McWilliams/John Macovic/Charlie Strong/Tom Herman/Steve Sarkisian Longhorn football. They view the notion of Texas and Blue Blood status as about as relevant as the English discussing the Victorian era and the British empire.

Those King Edward and Vince Young matchups were indeed epic, but who could forget Colt McCoy finally putting away Churchill and essentially the Brits last great teams.
