Says who? There was a national standard for picking champs beginning in 1936? What fantasy event “around the 1970s” changed anything. An Auburn claim of 1983 would be stupid but no more stupid than those other 4…. And #20 Bama’s claim is the most stupid of them all.

I don't disagree. Was moreso talking about 1993 and 2004 than 1983.
