Best place for him to land in that range by a mile. He dodged Detroit, Indiana and Washington. Orlando is the next breakout team in the East, really excited to watch Black with them.

So stoked that he landed there. Couldn’t have asked for a better spot in that range.

Really clutch landing spot. Was afraid he’d go to Indiana or Detroit and never hear from him again

Got to say I got roasted over the coals all year for saying nsj was a borderline 1st round pick all year.

He should have come back. He will get drafted but should have come back. He does nothing great at the nba level and plays high school level defense. The thing about Walsh and black is they can play nba level defense right now

I think more went on behind the scenes this past season.

Damn...passed over again. He may not go in the first round.

Nick to the Hornets at 27.

Looks like he's been at a funeral for 3 hrs.

Bilas loves him. Maybe the injury held him back. Best of luck to him.

Way to go Nick! Two first rounders. First time since 1992.

#27 got $6M last draft at $1.8M-2M per.

Weird ESPN lists Black as a SG and Smith as a PG, or is that their projected NBA positions?

Projection. Black has been considered a 2 in the NBA by many.

Nice ESPN Cheap shot here RE: Nick Smith

quote:

He was usually relegated to standing in the corner and looked sped up when he was called upon to create in Arkansas' dysfunctional and poorly spaced offense, often settling for difficult floaters and pull-ups from outside the paint. Still only 18 years old, Smith has time to work on his frame and better channel his frenetic energy as he's nearly 18 months younger than his former teammate Miller.

Jonathan Givony you can GFY.

When none of your Big 3 “freshman phenoms” could consistently hit a three, of course the offense was going to have issues.

I was already a low key Magic fan because they’re owned by free enterprise bastion Amway.

Drafting Black just amplifies my support of them. Wasn’t getting my hopes up he’d end up there.
