He sure does move around a lot. Isn't this his third?

Family was moving to Georgia anyways to be able to watch him every weekend. He was also at risk of being suspended for 5 games in AZ for some reason I can't remember.

bc of transferring lol.
He went from one school to another, then whatever governing board in AZ suspended him 5 games due to some kind of zoning transer rule or something or other. They appealed but won't know the status til later, so now they'll go to Buford.
We have historically had shittastic luck with buford so on the face of it I don't like this at all, but DR seems pretty friggin locked into us so maybe this could actually start turning the tide for us a bit?

Yeah he is locked in to us, nothing to worry about there. Has a younger brother that is also a QB so I think you're right it will help us. Forner number 1 prospect in the state Kj Bolden is at Buford, maybe DR will help close him.

I decided to look back at hte last 5 years of classes and look where the top 3 ranked players from Buford went each year
23: Bama, LSU, VT
22: Bama, Bama, Mich.St
21: Neb, Neb, FAU
20: Bama, GT, ASU
19: OSU, Texas, FL
4 for bama, 2 for nebraska, and 1 to a bunch of others. That's 15 players from that HS over 5 years, all generally highly ranked, and a not a single one committed to the major Big time program an hour away? Seems like their coaching staff is actively pushing kids away from us for whatever eason. I wonder if kenyatta watson is involved with their program ha

I usually assume Gwinnett kids are either leaving because they're transplants without a natural draw to UGA, or they're the kind who want a change of scenery and feel Athens is too close to home.
But Buford is just an entirely different animal when it comes to why we struggle to land their kids. Seems like it should be a no-brainer pipeline into UGA, but they seem to be poisoning the well.

I haven't been around the football program but I have seen other sports there up close.
There seems to be a sense of entitlement among the athletes.
I don't know what our coaches are looking for in athletes as we build a relationship with them. But I could see us being less aggressive the more we dig into the person based on some anecdotal experiences.

Purely anecdotal, but I agree from my personal experiences with former Buford athletes.
Regular Buford kids at UGA were insufferable, but their former athletes were on an insane level of insufferable.

Is this the new thing? Families just pulling up their roots and moving across the country to be with their premadonna future millionaire while they re in college?
I remember thinking it was weird when Tua’s family did that. But now it’s a common deal I suppose. Very weird.

I can see it when your dad played in the league for 14 years. He doesn't really have to work. But I agree regular people doing it was fishy and weird.

Did Brock Bowers’ family move here or get a place or something? They own a business that they run so imagine that’s probably hard. What about Milton or Kelee Ringo? I know their parents have been at every game. That’s a ton of travel. I guess NIL may take care of it.

Kelee's mom moved here, Brock and Milton's families travel

Kelee’s mom was a flight attendant so she traveled very cheaply or free.
