Not a fan. Thoughts?
I planned on going out there to snag a spot to watch behind the fence. Doesn't look like they will be allowing folks in the area.

That reads as if it is behind the K corner, and not the center field section where you can view through the fence.
No fan of tailgate guys, so certainly not trying to defend them, but I think you should be able to find a free spot out there. Could be wrong though.

Not A Fan, can't believe the tailgate atmostphere is now relegated to being a bunch of plain white tents.

I added the map of the reserved area

They've already had that area for football for a few years now.

Just go to the parking deck. Good view and free....

Hate the tailgate business folk stuff
I would think differently if I was in fact the Tailgate business guy.

I can go either way on them to be honest. I agree having the just complete uniform tented areas is a bit boring and makes everything feel very corporate and bland.
However, I also think overall they do a good job with the product they give and it does a great job with helping keep the campus in good condition. In a perfect world I think there is room for both options, but int he world of money, they will get the best spots every time.

I was just coming to ask about this. We are at Lake Martin until Friday and was thinking about trying to watch the game Friday before heading home.
What is the parking deck situation going to be like Friday night? How early would I need to get there to get a spot? Is it a good environment to be in with little kids?

I do not remember a dirty campus when it was open to first come first serve? Admittedly I have only gone to about 40-50 games in my lifetime and did not see every location that was tail gated.

Randy you get your East coast trip figured out?
I've been three times now to NY and have done the SOL/Ellis Island twice.
Sorry for hijacking guys.
Just an FYI, it is real easy to find a parking garage for your rental and luggage in Newark near a Path subway, and then take the train near the war memorial, and then the #1 train South to Battery Park area for the boat out to SOL. Those tunnels into Manhattan are jammed pack all the time, and finding parking will not be easy.

The campus was never awful or anything, but these do just help keep everything more organized.

With little ones in tow I would get there early and park on the 1st level. The walls on the upper level would be difficult for them to see over. How early? No way of knowing but you can also just set up chairs outside the fence too. Bathrooms right there in the deck.

I like sitting by the fence between the stadium and parking deck with kids. Kids have a little room to move around, better view than the outfield fence seating

Yeah. Is behind the hitting lab. If you go to their packages they have a disclaimer “View of Field is Inhibited by the Facility”. It’s just for tailgating.

Say a group of students wanted to rope off a tent-sized area in the green space by the stadium and student center. Is that illegal if they beat the tailgate guys to it on Thursday, or whenever the start time is for setting up? Or does the university have some contract with them where the have “rights” to those areas? I’m just thinking if I’m a paying student, I should have just as much right to those prime areas as well. I’m seriously just asking out of curiosity because I have no idea and I know that area is usually only white tents. I’m also talking about football btw.

It sucks but you would be removed. Essentially the tailgate folks have a deal to lease areas on campus

2023 revenue of $15 million. Not bad for two guys who brainstormed it. I think the schools get a cut.
