How was Bennett able to stay eligible but yet spend 6 years in college but never have enough credits to graduate?
Is possible he wasn't eligible for parts of his career?

Switched majors a couple times, I believe.

Have to remember he left UGA once and then transferred back. Sometimes that will cause a student to lose credits depending upon which classes at the other school are eligible for transfer. This can easily cause a student's graduation to be pushed back until the required number of credits have been attained. Not sure if this was Bennett's case or not, though. He did switch majors, though, and this will definitely cause you to graduate later.

He went to a JUCO and was accepted back, on scholarship, so he had to do the NCAA clearing house route. And the academic standards for a walkon are higher than a scholarship player. So he had to of amassed a minimum of 200 credit hours in his career. With the standard of towards an accredited degree.
He had to have the credits to be eligible, why didn’t he graduate and just start grad school like a normal student athlete? If he didn’t have the grades he should have sat out.

Switched majors from History to Philosophy to Economics. NCAA mandates you make sufficient progress toward a degree and with that many amassed hours plus core being completed, he satisfied all NCAA reqs to remain eligible so long as he was enrolled in 12 hours each semester. Ultimately, just a bad look for him personally and for UGA’s Grad Success Rate for football

Did he go to JUCO for failing grades? Or for playing time. I was under the impression it was for playing time.

The same way Tyrann Mathieu was able to fail 10+ drug tests and stay eligible, I guess.

He was at UGA for 4.5 years.
Changed his major twice (3 declared majors).
And presumably finished working towards a professional certification (not a degree program).

Crazy isn't it? LSU fan starts a troll thread and for some reason when a Georgia fan strikes back you act like you have been unfairly treated.

1. The amount of credits you need to be considered a full load is about two thirds of what students usually take to graduate in four years.
2. That would mean you can stay fully eligible to play and graduate in 6 years.
3. He changed majors. Even one time would make it possible. He changed twice.
4. He transferred out of state and then back in state. Normally, when you transfer (based on my own experience) they are gonna assume you are graduating in their state and they are gonna sign you up for the core classes required in their state that weren't required in your previous state. Some classes won't transfer. So as an out of state transfer, he still could've been fully eligible, not even changed majors, and still not graduate.
