I guess we will see, but I think people are underestimating what a huge thing that first win accomplished. Getting a monkey off your back is massive. Especially doing it in the manner UGA did, after another game-changing play that seemingly changed momentum to Bama’s favor, the fact the team basically said “F this, we’re going to win“ just changes how the two teams approach the next meeting.

Alternatively, Bama lost their sense of invincibility, and just assuming they will find a way to win. They still skated by on talent against Texas and Texas AM, but when thinks didn’t go their way against UT, I think the dam suddenly has a real structural crack that widened against LSU and could end up bringing down the whole structure.

People talk about good portal gets, but I think if you are apparently recruiting as well as Bama has the past 5 years, having to go into the portal to snag your top offensive players is a HUGE red flag something is just not right. That means you aren’t just missing on evaluations, but missing on the whole position group for multiple years.

Right, 2022 was the first time Bama lost 2 games in Saban's tenure.

The "structural crack" was 2 bad coordinators that have been replaced. and acting like two losses on the last plays of the game against rivals in their stadiums is some kind of huge turning point for us is silly.

This is dumb. With the portal/transfer rules in place now, this is something that pretty much every school is doing. It would have been stupid not to grab Gibbs and Williams. Every top school would have gladly taken them. We didn't "have" to bring them in.
