Alabama Player Development Is Nonexistent

I remember back in Saban's early years at Alabama. The biggest difference between us and everyone else, is that our staff could take a bunch of 3 and 4 stars and beat everyone else.
Once the 5 stars started coming in, it was over for everyone else, because even though a coach like Les Miles could recruit on par with us, our player development and discipline was superior.
Now, we've become the program that gets all of the talent, but can't develop it.
It's shocking how far we've fallen as a program in just a couple of seasons.
We've got 4 QBs on the roster, but the coaches aren't confident in any of them, so we have to get a mediocre QB from the Big 10? Jesus...
Our offensive line can't do anything. Our WRs are dropping balls all over the place.
Hopefully our old LB coach, Kevin Steele can come in and build an attacking defense, but we'll see.
At this point, I don't know if Alabama has a single future 1st round pick on the entire roster. It's gotten that bad...

Just as two Bama players will go in the top 5 in the draft. Because Bama doesn't develop players.

Some of us can see what's right in front of our faces. We went 10-2 last year and missed the playoffs with a Heisman winning QB, and a top 10 draft pick at LB

Yep, you are finally seeing the real Saban without the talented asst. coaches. He's avg at best but with stellar recruits. He's not a mentor or a developer type coach(except db's). Very weak in the discipline dept and it shows on the field with such excessive penalties. He overworks his coaches and they have no life outside of work. The revolving door has stayed open but as you see most coaches know the MO now.

2008 and 2009 this was definitely true.
The only 2 flashy 5 star recruits we had on 2009s team were Julio and Trent Richardson as true freshmen. Most of the team was still left over from the Shula era

A negative opinion is that offense got too reliant upon quarterback magic to make anything happen on offense.

This is just ridiculous. Saban is the GOAT hands down, but he's getting old.
He's a hard-nosed man in a gone-soft world.
I think he's just getting too old for this shite, and his style doesn't mesh as well with the iPad TikTok generation
