Belongs to Vanderbilt’s 2013 team. 26-3 conference record. Dropped in the SRs vs Louisville. Probably the best team to never win the CWS.

Arkansas has come close. Just difficult to maintain that level the entire season.

Another all-time best/unbreakable conference record in baseball......

Georgia was the FIRST SEC team to ever win the College World Series.

This record will NEVER be broken.

Dave Magadan‘s .525 BA in ‘83 is gonna be tough to break. Especially with what the conference has become.

Crews being near it this late in the season is impressive enough.

ETA: rereading the thread title, and I see now… but point remains.

The club seats at Sewell-Thomas Stadium are named after the feat. The 525 Club.

Wrong.

2022 Tennessee BaseVols had the best SEC season ever. 25-5. 4-0 Tourney . Won the East by 10 games and SEC tourney Champs.

Vandy didn't win the SEC tourney that year. If they did I'd say they had the best season.

26-3, .866 > 25-5, .833.

Sorry boss. Y’all had a chance but didn’t break it. Next year?

The 2000 Gamecocks ... 25-5 SEC. 55-10 overall. Knocked out of the SRs by one helluva good La Lafayette team with one of the finest pitching staffs I've ever seen. I think two of their three starters went in the first round and their third, plus one of their bullpen guys, their closer, went in the second. Or maybe it was two starters and their closer all went in the first and one of their bullpen guys went in the second.

2000 Gamecocks, probably the best team to not win the CWS but ... we don't count those teams among Gamecock greatness unless they make it to Omaha at the very least.

That 2000 team was a major disappointment - it had no redeeming qualities in the end except that most of that roster played for the National Championship in 2002.

ETA: That 2013 Vandy team won the CWS in 2014 so ... cudos.

Lets see what UT does this year and next to determine just how good they might have been last season.

I’d say this site got a lot more enjoyment out the results of your season overall no doubt.

Oh I remember. Same year my Bulldogs upset Cal State Fullerton in the CWS. Who was y’all’s coach then? Webber?

Y’all knocked on the door a lot until Tanner knocked it down. Those back to back CWS champ teams were incredible to watch. Moxie but not over the top. Really fun to root for.

Up there for sure. LSU’s 2013 team was 57-9 entering Omaha and went 2Q. 1989 A&M has a strong argument as well.

They took 23-7 #2 LSU to extra innings in a classic title game, not 15-15 and unranked Florida.

The 2019 Vandy CWS champion team that went 23-7 in conference should have been a wire to wire #1 team but UCLA refused to lose a series and they wouldn't put us over them.

Florida has 68 HRs already. I believe the record is 188 from LSU. Gators could make a run at it

You’re not even close to half way there and past the mid point of the season. That record is untouchable unless they bring back the late 90s bats. Tennessee had more at this point in the season last year and still fell like over 30 short
