BIG Ten CBS starts this year.
SEC ESPN starts 2024. CBS SEC ends after this year and 3:30 games move to ABC.
Is CBS carrying both conferences 2023?
Confused about the CBS 3:30 time slot.

As far as I understand it, for 2023, CBS still has the rights to the SEC Game of the Week and night games. I guess they can choose to run that or sell it off and broadcast a bigger Big Ten matchup instead?

NBC has Jac Collinsworth and Noah Eagle for primetime games. Forgive me, but I'd rather not listen to children call football games.

It’s complicated to be sure.
For the most part it will be Fox (Noon), CBS (3:30), NBC (Prime Time). FS1 and B1G Network as well.
Sounds like Fox will have control over who gets what. That must be where a bid process is involved.
As for 2023 the B1G will likely have some 2:30/3:30 games on CBS possibly even before any SEC games are shown.

Far as I can tell, the 3:30 slot is a lock for SEC 2023 on CBS every week and they will schedule some big ten games around.
I believe the few CBS doubleheaders are still in place unless those get sold to ESPN.

yes, the ABC/ESPN games will begin at 3:30 EST alongside the CBS games for 2023. What I understand is once the SEC moves the 2:30 SEC game will be covered by ABC and the 6PM game will be ESPN. CBS has no plans to have an 11 AM kick game and will compete directly with ABC for the 3:30 PM slot. Fox will do whatever it is they do. ESPN2, SEC network will continue as they have done.

When was the last time Florida got a CBS 3:30 spot, other than the annual UGA game?
I ask the same for Auburn.
Gary "Slobs" because CBS has always gotten the first pick of games every week, so there's usually some hotshits on the field during his broadcast, doing hotshit things. Gary is probably the fairest color announcer in modern times.

I know that the BigTen will be on CBS at 2:30 for the first three weeks since the SEC on CBS doesn't start until Week 4.
After that, I assume a lot of their games will be moved to Paramount+ or get moved to 11 AM or 6 PM.

Always a controversial subject, but in my case I agree.
I think ultimately he's a huge fan of college football, and calls games exactly the way he sees the storylines unfold, including what teams are doing well, or what other teams might need to do to win.
If you're an opposing fan, you might perceive this as biased. A lot of people prefer to hear their own announcer and aren't used to the other team getting compliments during the broadcast, or criticisms of their team's performance.
As with all of us, his age is catching up with him now, but during his prime I enjoyed most of his work, and thought he did a great job for the SEC — although I'm sure many will vehemently disagree with that statement.
