The OL was an issue. This may be addition by subtraction. Who does Drink bring in?
247 Sports is reporting OL/Assistant Head Coach Marcus Johnson is taking an unspecified staff position at Purdue.

I don't think Drinkwitz would be the one making the pick of an OL coach by himself. I think the OC is the one should get to pick his choice of an OL coach. This is why I am happy to have a new OC. He should be able to bring in some key offense players and offensive coaches of his choice that Drinkwitz will be willing to accept it.

I was excited about Johnson when Mizzou hired him. Mississippi State ran the ball effectively when he was their OL coach. But, after three years, I'm not sad to see him go. He wasn't making much of a positive impact on the line, at least as far as I could tell. The low sack rates when Bazelak was playing QB were mostly due to him being able to get rid of the ball quickly. Badie's huge season was very much due to his own great efforts.

Sounds like a great opportunity to upgrade.
I'm betting the new OC will have input if, in fact, he doesn't make the selection himself.
I doubt that Drink operates in the bubble that some on here think he does.

The OL must have really looked bad during Spring ball.
It might be hard to find experienced college OL coach this late in the Spring. He might have to look for a former NFL OL coach or Asst OL coach.
Maybe Moore’s brother can hook him up with a OL coach

We are in year 3 of Marcus' tenure and we still dont have a decent center. Thats a big no no when it comes to oline coaching.

Brandon Jones, former university of Houston OL coach and former center at Texas Tech. His lines did very well at Houston, but there was a falling out this last year. As a former center, he is perfect to fix our current center problem. Also Texas roots for recruiting. He is currently available.
