Currently in the process of planning a road trip to SC for the UK game Nov 18. What are the important things to know for a first-time Williams-Brice goer?

Similar fans, lots of suffering for the long term folks but they stay loyal.

Stay in the Vista. It's an easy commute from there to the stadium and you're surrounded by tons of bars and restaurants. Tailgating begins early, so arrive early. The atmosphere at Williams-Brice is phenomenal (especially for a historically mediocre program). UK is not high on most of our hate lists so you won't get the hostility other fans might. Be prepared to hang around your tailgate spot for a good hour or so after the end of the game, as traffic is a nightmare around downtown. Sunday morning eat an early brunch at DiPrato's.

Taters suck and have conjugal relations with sheep.

Weird that a fan of a team with a losing record to us would say this...but do you

Nah Halls Chophouse is the brunch spot. They portion sizes alone are insane.
It remains the only place Columbia imo where you really get what your pay for.

Get to the game really early because traffic will be terrible. Excellent atmosphere inside of the stadium and tailgating around the fairgrounds is above average. When I went in 2013 it was hotter than hell in late August so be happy with a November date.

Halls is great, it costs a lot but you do get a lot
Divino Russo is great for a good fine dining place.
