Hmm....the statement from his attorney seems to dispute your interpretation:

I won’t see or handle a bunch of things in my backseat when I go to lunch here in a bit. Since when does that mean I’m not aware I don’t have them back there?

It’s not my interpretation, it’s an absolute fact that the attorney’s statement does not deny Miller had knowledge the gun was in his car.

“Not seeing” something does not mean not knowing of its existence and location. It’s a careful choice of words that may be technically true but paint the most favorable picture of the client which likely isn’t the most accurate representation of what happened.
