A more proven younger DC it would have been Pruitt for me, Saban is smart enough to navigate the NCAA crap. He could have hired Steele too and made them co-DCs and put it in Pruitt’s contract if the show cause comes then he is demoted to an analyst at reduced pay.

In any case I think the DC hire became significantly more important once Rees was hired. If Pruitt had happened, maybe the Rees hiring would be ok. But without a solid DC that can keep opponents to lower scores I don’t think the style offense Rees will run is going to be high scoring and able to keep up with higher tempo teams that can score at will.

And please do not try and sell anyone on Steele being same level as someone like Pruitt or Kirby, he is not on that level.

Sensitive people can't tolerate other people's opinions because it doesn't align with theirs and they call them trolls as a defensive tactic. Its a weak move.

Don't think this is an option. Pretty sure that if Pruitt is on staff in a coaching capacity when issued a show cause we get hit with sanctions even if he was demoted.

I don't know why anyone thinks Rees is going to run a different offense than what Saban has had all our OCs run since Kiffin.

I think most would be happy/satisfied if your scenario had been announced for the DC choice. Or if it proves to be something CNS does as soon as the NCAA crap is resolved.

He probably hired Steele right away just to ease the fan base' anxiety.

I'm more eager to see what the new Co-ords roll out in their game plans, than what their resumes look like. I trust CNS to have done his due diligence. Plus I think it is way too premature for fans to be concluding he's lost it.
