Schedule a non conf sec game or will sec bylaws prevent that
For example, let’s say lsu Fla game is not an annual game anymore, could lsu play Fla in a non conf game instead?

The ACC does it regularly.

I'm not not sure if the SEC would be ok with it considering they made us cancel our game with Oklahoma since the 2nd game was scheduled after OU is supposed to join the conference tho.

Not sure on that but I doubt anyone wants 10 of their 12 games to be SEC games.

I've said this back when people talked about pods & losing DSOR yearly:

"HELL NO will the SEC have a game NOT count as a conf. game between 2 members!"

If we bring in The Sorbonne and Trinity College in Dublin, I’d like us to play them each year on the road in July or August.

They do it in baseball, I don't see why not in football.

I wouldn’t say they do it regularly, they’re the only p5 that’s done it and not sure if it’ll be allowed in new schedule format. It’s a terrible idea honestly. Best case scenario for traditional rivalry preservation is a large expansion 30 team sec, or a screw all new guys expansion, and have the original ten in one division, and arky usce mizz Tex atm Oklahoma plus 4 new ones and play ten conference game with a cross division rivalry week.

I still want to see some of these second tier teams be able to earn TV revenue that they need to run their athletic departments.

And it is always good to give second and third string players some reps before the typical amount of injuries start to pile up.

Catch is you have to play all in your division yearly.
However, I don't think there are many rivalries around the 1st 10 tied to the newer 10 (only unsure about Ark.).

&, @ an even # conf. games (10), that gives EVERYBODY 5H/5A games.
