We have tailgated for decades, partied with a ton of fans from other programs, and not once have I ever heard anyone say, "Man, y'all need to checkout the scene at Kansas State."

USC shouldn’t be in Top 100. Look how stupid the metrics are, makes no sense.

LSU is one of the weirdest fanbases. When I was at Auburn, THE place to be for a broke and hungry college student was in the drill fields when LSU LOST. When they won, their collective jerk factor went straight to 11, but when they lost, they strangely seemed to get happy and start handing out free food... and it was GOOD food.

LSU's willingness to sellout to corporate sponsored ridiculously priced tailgates are taking us down a notch.

The fact that a majority of SEC schools have went that route has been a detriment to tailgating

Alabama has done this too — not by explicitly making certain areas corporate-only, but by pricing the best areas so high that no one in their right mind would reserve it other than a commercial group.
Infuriating topic that I could go on and on about, and a policy that clearly continues to alienate the most loyal supporters.

It's everywhere.
The common man is being priced out of the Southern game more and more each day.

Yay for soulless corporatization!

Tailgating at UGA is a mere image of what it once was, say back in the late 80's early 90's. Others may disagree but the game day experience at UGA has fallen off in general but the actual game atmosphere is heads and shoulders above what it was when the tailgating was exceptional. At the end of the day its better for the game atmosphere is the important thing. I am sure many have great tailgating today but it is harder to do properly today than it was 30 years ago.

I don’t know if it’s changed but last MSU tailgate i went to the best areas were still mostly students and fans while the big corporate tents were across the street from the stadium

Sadly this is what the entire country is turning into from chain businesse, cars, cookie cutter homes. Everything is the fricking same. Cities and neighborhoods are losing their uniqueness as are car designs. Every city has the same damn restaurants. It sucks

I may not be all that keen on LSU, but to not have them near the top (much less off the list entirely) is absolute bullshite. The times I made it to Baton Rouge, the tailgating was amazing and everyone was friendly. "Calm before the storm", I suppose, but regardless the atmosphere and food were A+.
I swear it feels like the writer went to those 10 places only, went to each only once, and felt like he had enough info to write an article.

That article is lazy as frick they literally just picked every team that made a NY6 bowl or the playoffs this year. Nothing about why they have a great tailgating scene. And no SEC teams in top 5 is horseshite.
Every single SEC school except maybe Missouri and Vandy are a top 20 tailgating location
