I don’t see how you can automatically just think these guys Saban just hired are that much better than Pete and BOB. They may be better, but I doubt they are that much better. I don’t see the needle being moved in the win/loss column. I honestly think 5 teams on the schedule have a shot at beating us next season. I would think the same exact number if BOB and Pete were returning. I don’t see scoring points increasing under Rees and I don’t see opposing teams scoring less under Steele.

To me, it's not so much about the scoring on offense. We scored 41 ppg last season.

It's

-consistency in successful drives
-less 3 and outs
-more successful early down plays
-less penalties
-more disciplined blocking
-being able put a team away in the 4th Q
-not having to rely on a magician QB to pull a rabit out of his hat to get big plays through the air

As far as defense, hell, penalties, undisciplined play, and overly complicated schemes alone were probably good for at least 7 points a game last season.

These are things that were big, but relatively simple problems that can be cleaned up with better coaching. If those two can just simply do that, then we will be in much better shape than we were under BoB and Pete.
