Jonesy, thats what he sounds like from what Ive read. Some guys put on weight and it pays off in spades (like it seems to be happening with Faulk) and some guys put on the weight and the loss in quickness is not offset by the added weight (Byron Cowart). Not saying he is at either of these fellas level coming out of high school just using them as examples.
DJ Lindsey will be a stud, Blockton "developmental", looking at what we have in the room now, I dont think we need another developmental HS kid. Id hold out, swing for the fence on a Beamon and if we miss go JC or portal. Who knows maybe Carter commits and brings his DT teammate from Mater Dei, Im kidding, sort of.
Corch to your point, isnt that what Sledge and Johnson are projected at, do we really need a third developmental guy for that position. Im asking, not being judgemental.

Sounds more and more like Miami for Zaquan Patterson.

It’s a good question and yes we need to take a NT every cycle. They get injured a lot because of all the double teams. Some work out and some don’t. Takes a different breed of guy to mix it up that much. However it is a developmental position. Even if we landed the very top NT you probably wouldn’t expect them to really contribute until their redshirt sophomore season.
From what I understand Roberts fronts do a lot of slant and twist stuff. That may be why we are giving up big runs until everyone figures out gap assignments. But it’s just my opinion in slant defenses seems like the DL gets banged up more often then straight gap schemes. I’m probably wrong on that but seems that way to me
