Some scuttlebutt about JMU’s QB this morning, heard his name mentioned a few weeks ago, but nothing ever came of it.

He entered the portal originally because we told him he had to stay at Nickel.

Yea, Jordan McLeod.

So a one and done QB?

I’d rather Hank or Walker take the snaps in ‘24, it’s not like we are competing next year anyhow.

You do know Freeze ran through 4 QBs one season right? I’m cool with Bocephus and Walker, but who wants to see more of PT or Holden if those guys go down? Plus, the likelihood of losing 2 QBs after spring is pretty high.

5 years ago I’d have agreed with you to just go ahead and roll one of the young guys out, but we need to keep momentum going and build off this season/recruiting.

A decent QB could take us from 6-7 wins to 8-9 wins with the WR group we have coming in.

You can join the ban bet too. If Thorne starts he throws for at least 22 TDs.

Someone needs to combine some threads in Rant and create the "As the Tide Turns" thread. All the players in the portal, the decommits from 2025, the staff leaving, advertising for walkons and the glorious fall where Bama loses multiple games.

I'm waiting for Ryan Williams to announce before really piling on.

Well our football season sucked. It was awful.

Recruiting has been good, so do we play the young guys we promised and let them grow or stick with Thorne

Agreed, I don’t see bringing in a guy to amp up competition as an issue but a benefit.

If Walker or Hank rises above that then awesome. If a transfer gets us extra wins awesome. One and done works perfectly in my opinion. Then Walker knows it’s his to take in 25 if he can’t his freshman year.

The meltdown is already reaching epic levels and has broken a lot of their fanbase. RW is going to really break them all. They are starting to have confidence that he comes back to them. He is an expert at playing the recruiting game and will give them a glowing review after the visit to Tuscaloosa this weekend.

He is going to Auburn, though.

I wonder if they’re going to regret recruiting nationally for players (and students) as much as they did under Saban. Ended up with people who were only there for Saban, while AU was consistently recruiting in state.

He’s followed some AU players and Freeze/Nix today.

Let's take a look back at what they achieved by recruiting nationally.... Yeah I don't think there is much regret there. As mentioned above - they picked whoever the hell they wanted locally and nationally
