Stopping for the night and getting in around 6:30. Is there anything can’t miss? Doesn’t have to be upscale.

Chuck’s has a location downtown Mobile. Pretty tough to beat.

Noble South is awful. Skip that one for sure.

Wintzells is a chain, pass
Callaghan’s has good burgers and is a pretty cool little spot

Surprised Dauphin’s in the tower isn’t on that list. I never made it there but always heard it was really good.

Callaghan’s or Squid Ink. Don’t know which direction you’re coming from, but Original Oyster House or Felix’s on the causeway.

So is Chuck's, no.

Doesn't mean it can't be good

The original Wintzells is a historical landmark has been in Mobile 70+ years. It's not like it's an Applebee's

That’s fair, I just don’t think it’s very good. Used to be decent for a half priced dozen raw and a beer for happy hour, but they don’t even do that anymore.

Always preferred the causeways spots if going for the Wintzell’s kinda menu.

I’ve had great fried oysters from Wintzells.
Haven’t been in a few years though.

Went twice and had bad experiences both times. Could just be bad luck, but I’m not paying a premium to find out.

If you’re looking for seafood, I’d check out one of the places on the causeway (Felix’s is my personal favorite). It’s just a couple minutes from downtown.

I stopped in Mobile leaving Orange Beach a few weeks ago and ate at a little tucked away restaurant in downtown called "Spot of Tea". Thoroughly enjoyed it but there was a 35 minute wait. Well worth it though.

I appreciate the ideas, guys.

Is Squid Ink alright? My mom is hinting that she doesn’t want to venture very far from the hotel and it’s right next to us.

I would eat at Felix's on the causeway. All the rest of that bullshite downtown you can keep. Nothing but a bunch of Kia Sol driving Craft beer drinking hipsters down there.

Never been but the description that it "takes its inspiration from the cuisines of our founding nations: France, Spain, and England" would give me pause.

French fare is all hype. You're supposed to like it, but it's pricy and not great to me outside of the desserts. English food is hot garbage, which is oftentimes not hot.

I do like Spanish cuisine, but having an American twist on it with an additional English and French menu would make me cautious. I'm guessing pricy and and uneventful at best.

But, again, never been there.

Although. I have been to all parts in the UK, Paris, and multiple locales in Spain, so I stand by my point.

Menu looks legit.

Dauphin’s is right there too in the RSA tower I think

Haberdasher is a great spot for drinks a few doors down from Squid Ink too

Squid Ink is very good. Do it.

Spot of Tea that others have mentioned is a great breakfast but not open for dinner.

I appreciate everyone’s help. Mom looked at the menu and made an executive decision.

Going to Spot if Tea before we head out tomorrow morning.
