Coach Richt asks for prayers. He's got'em!!
Years earlier, his wife, Kathryn, was diagnosed with cancer. Over the years subsequent to this announcement, Richt seemed much less focused and interested in coaching while at UGA. Most people, including myself, noticed it and thought it had to do with his wife. I'm sure part of it was.
Now, we see a much clearer picture of something that was arising in his life that had as much an impact on his focus and drive as Parkinson's was developing in his body without his knowing it and not known until recently.
He's a greatly loved man.
"Even going back as far as Georgia, just my energy seemed depleted. You know, working 15 years at Georgia could do that, too, so you didn't really know what it was," Richt said in July 2021, according to ESPN.

What kind of treatment do they have for Parkinson’s?

Sad to hear he’s dealing with that. Always liked the guy.

There are medications and therapies that assist with it. One of the therapies I've heard about has to do with brain stimulation, which is a surgical procedure.

He was on a pregame show for the ACC network and I didn't recognise him because he had aged so much since the picture posted at the top of the thread. All the best to him.

Dad was diagnosed about 15 years ago with it. Thankfully, it has not progressed as fast as other's parents I know.

I didn't realize there was a treatment for Parkinson's. Prayers for CMR. I always liked the guy.

There are actually a lot of Parkinson's meds out there- one exists to treat just about every symptom. Isn't perfect and the levodopa causes serious side effects (dyskinesia) but treatments do exist unlike Alzheimers

Yeah, I've seen those put in. They work wonders. That said, I have Parkinson's also courtesy of Camp LeJeune contaminated water. I hope I never have see the day where I have to have one of those.

My father had it and cancer 25 years ago. He said it was harder dealing with Parkinson's than the cancer. He died 18 years ago from both, but it is a very tough disease.

My mom has it. Sucks.
Medicine helped quite a bit for a while, but not so much anymore.

I’m sorry to hear this. I hope things go well for you. My father-in-law had it years ago before there was effective treatment. I hear there are things that can help now. Best wishes for you
