That seems like not much in the grand scheme of things. $400 for a family in need? He's been out of work with no buyout for 2 years.

I still hope Saban hires him, but I would imagine Sanky will block it.

Exactly. That was then, this is now. Sounds like a perfect candidate for Saban's rehab program under the guidance of Saban.

"The woman shared the details during an April 15, 2021, interview after she was granted limited immunity at the request of the NCAA enforcement staff"

Immunity from what? The NCAA has no authority over her.

That's horrible. He should be punished. He should be forced to work for the most notorious taskmaster in the SEC, Nick Saban. Forced to work for him until he learns his lesson.

You would think that UT had learned that karma was real by now. Oh well, maybe that’s good for another 15 or 20 year drought to us.

Seriously, since we have NIL I don't see how the NCAA can issue a show cause or sanction Tennessee. It was always illegal and immoral for college athletes not to be compensated financially.

Probably just poorly written in the article. They probably granted immunity to her son, so anything revealed in her testimony wouldn't affect his eligibility.

The NCAA has little to no teeth anymore. I'd be about as scared of them as a shadow. They are the ones staring down the barrel of a gun now.

I'd love to see Pruitt back as DC. But I'll be surprised if we hire a DC that could get a show cause at any time. Would be better to hire him back as an analyst until we see how it all shakes out. It would be hypocritical of the NCAA to penalize him when people are getting a pass for worse. But a little hypocrisy never bothered the NCAA before.

Shouldn't there be a statute of limitations by now?

With NIL now I just don't see how this is a big deal anymore. Neither Pruitt nor Tennessee should be punished and like others have said the NCAA is pretty much becoming obsolete at this point.

Probably not. I may be remembering wrong, but it seems like the statute of limitations for violations is something like 5 years? Fortunately, we haven't had to be familiar with such topics for awhile.
Just googled it. It appears to be 4 years prior to the institution receiving their notification from the NCAA. Congress was looking at passing a bill that restricted the length of NCAA investigations to 8 months, and the statute of limitations to 2 years. Don't know if the bill passed, though.

shite more of a reason to hire him. Isee Kriby and Pruitt as 1a and 1b for Saban era DCs. We're in the NIL age and this dude is helping out with medical bills. I don't think he should have any troubles over this nor TN (as much as I can't stand those bastards).
