With Kiffin to Auburn imminent, it’s a good time to review the Auburn creed

quote:

I believe that this is a practical world and that I can count only on what I earn. Therefore, I believe in work, hard work.

I believe in education, which gives me the knowledge to work wisely and trains my mind and my hands to work skillfully.

I believe in honesty and truthfulness, without which I cannot win the respect and confidence of my fellow men.

I believe in a sound mind, in a sound body and a spirit that is not afraid, and in clean sports that develop these qualities.

I believe in obedience to law because it protects the rights of all.

I believe in the human touch, which cultivates sympathy with my fellow men and mutual helpfulness and brings happiness for all.

I believe in my Country, because it is a land of freedom and because it is my own home, and that I can best serve that
country by "doing justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly with my God."

And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

Irony.

Well he said he hadn't signed anything not that he wasn't going... I guess that's truthful

Everyone agrees all that is technically true. Continuing to jab that reporter is really weird though

Put to music, the systematic rhythm of this Creed might remind me of "Dixie".

It's almost like they think they're the Power of Dixieland

Something that other fans like to bring up that has no importance to most Auburn grads.

Having lived close to Auburn for 10+ years, you’re wrong. I had no idea what “Auburn man” meant until I moved to that area.

My son is a freshman and barely knows a thing about it. I graduated 25 years ago and know nothing more about it than what I see people post here.
It’s not like we memorized it, recited and salute

My experience as well. Don't know anyone who knows it or cares about it.

I’m an Alum and honestly the only parts of the creed I know off the top of my head are:

quote:

I believe in work, hard work.

quote:

And because Auburn men and women believe in these things, I believe in Auburn and love it.

And the only reason I know those parts is because of a commercial.

This certainly explains why they're among the leaders for NCAA sanctions.
