Rule Question TCU game

On the last play (3rd down and TCU gets tackled in bounds) why did Baylor substitute so fast? In theory they could wait as they have to be given time to substitute since TCU substituted. Or is there a rule saying otherwise?

Yeah they should have took their time. They would have been allowed time to substitute

I wouldn’t count on any officiating crew to successfully implement that approach with the way they’ve been this year.

Yeah, not sure how much time they'll allow. I've seen play clocks wind way down during normal course of the game .
But, they did get the kick away with 5 seconds left.
