If y’all had taken care of business like you should have, it’d be a moot point.

There are temptations with that line of thinking, but it would merely be an emotional response rather than a rational one. There are a few reasons why UGA playing well and winning is more desirable, at least to me:

1. It's the SECCG. Our goal should always be to win it.

2. Winning the SECCG would mean the perfect season is still alive.

3. If we do go on to win the national championship, it would be good to also win the SEC championship. Obviously the natty is better and more prestigious, but I'd rather not see the possibility of a repeat of last season where we won the natty but lost the conference championship, and give opportunity for LSU fans (or any others) to delegitimize our natty.

4. Winning the SECCG doesn't guarantee TN will be in the playoffs at this point in time, but even if it does, it potentially gives us an opportunity to silence the TN fans who are still in denial about being destroyed in Athens a couple Saturdays ago.

I think Georgia gets left out in that scenario.

Although I find the Vol melt amusing I want UGA to bring their A game. If they curb stomp LSU so be it.

Arky fans, deep down inside you’d rather see LSU win the west than Ole Miss Posted by geauxnavybeatbama on 11/9/22 at 6:26 am LSU has been to atlanta multiple times and that won’t change. You don’t want to see a team in the same tier as Arkansas go to atlanta over you. Do the right thing this weekend.

You mean like this one.

So when JD5 goes pro along with Boutte etc. and you got a redshirt freshman starting at qb and a bunch of other young guys you’re gonna have a better shot at a natty. I don’t see it. Maybe if Daniel’s stays but if not you’ll have a sophomore slump.
Except for the freshman QB you are describing Georgia this year.

I hear you….and I don’t want to make excuses…. But Perkins wasn’t even a factor in that game due to not seeing the field, our starting left tackle that is crucial to our lines success was out and it was after this game when the light really turned on for JD. Our offense didn’t have a great day, but he started throwing the ball down field and it gave him great confidence moving forward. This is a different team that’s going to be facing Georgia than the one that faced Tennessee. Should we win this game? no. But as BK said before the Alabama game “you only have to be the better team on that one day“

Not really, we have the head to head with Bama too, if they had not lost to TN, still wouldn’t matter. Each have one SEC loss….

But had they not lost to TN, who knows what your game would have resulted in since it was the deciding contest.
