CFP scenario question…

I realize it would be tough for LSU to beat UGA in the SECCG, but if they did mess around and beat them, are the Tigers in the CFP with 2 losses?
UGA also in, UT out? The committee would be in a pickle.

Undoubtedly. Tenn out of luck in that scenario

Yes I think they would be in with two losses

You need several teams including UGA to lose before the SECCG for a chance to get in. SEC is likely only getting 1 in this year.

I don't care about cfb playoff
I want to make Atlanta and play our best game
Let the chips fall

No way they're letting in a two loss LSU who lost to Tennessee 40-13 on their home field get in before a one-loss Tennessee whose only loss is by 14 to the #1 team.
Ain't happening.
Maybe they'd just decide to forego the headache and not let either of us in, boosting some other team above both of us.
But LSU ain't getting in over Tennessee.

Ooohhhh. Please make this a thing!
Imagine tRant with an 11-1 Tenner team sitting at home, while a 2 loss West team that got smoked by them goes to CFP. Glorious.

I disagree because I think TCU loses and Big10 will settle itself

Yes, in that scenario TN gets left out. SEC Champ is 100% IN the playoffs

If LSU as SEC champ did not get in, then no other SEC school would. Maybe a lot of folks would like to see that.

The idea has much to recommend it.

I have a better CFP scenario question.
If these teams win out, who was the last team to beat them?
1) UGA
2) Michigan
3) Tennessee
4) Oregon

LSU would be ahead of UGA in the pecking order more than likely. But they'd be behind 1-loss conference champions from other conferences (hard to argue LSU over Clemson given the FSU game)
It's possible the SEC could get NO teams in the playoff in this scenario.

Bama, UGA, UGA, UGA

LSU would be ahead of UGA just like if I had wings I would fly. UGA will deep dick LSU.

LSU wins the West
LSU wins in ATL - beating Georgia
LSU is in, eyeballs matter and LSU is fun to watch at their stage (FSU and Tide) were competitive to the end. Georgia had 3 TD's on UT and folks changed the channel. Advertisers hate that and they pay the bills that generate the $$$$.

I am more worried the B1G will backdoor two teams who played nobody for 2 of the CFP slots.
Say end of the season ...
Michigan is undefeated
Ohio State is undefeated
They play each other in an over rated game
Loser has 1 loss
Winner wins B1G championship (beating say Bert)
Winner will be #1 in CFP
Loser will be #3 in the CFP
That way they can play a rematch for the Natty ensuring a B1G natty
Best hope is each has a loss before they play each other and the winner loses to the other side of the B1G Championship game.
