Time to start getting ready for 2023

With the season effectively over and all of our goals out of reach, I feel like the coaching staff should start making strides to get the younger guys ready for next season. Jalen Milroe and Ty Simpson should get snaps at QB over the next three games in meaningful game situations. The same thing goes for our younger receivers and offensive linemen. I have a feeling we are about to see players start opting out so we might as well start preparing for the future.

Won't happen, when have you ever seen Saban do something like that?

OP, that makes far too much sense and will never happen. But based on what I saw from Milroe this year, they better be doing something at QB FAST for next year!..........Besides, if we are getting ready for next year, fire the OC/DC now and start looking. :)

We need to start by ordering a couple U-Haul trucks for Bob and Golding. LOL!!

If someone starts a GoFundMe, I'm in for $1K.

It would be the prudent thing to do no doubt, but I’m curious to see if Saban self scouts himself enough to make the changes necessary to compete like he would have done 3-4 years ago.

Outside of BoB and Golding not on staff, can someone tell me one concrete thing to be excited about for the 2023 season? Is there anything currently associated with this team/program that makes you optimistic about the 2023 season?

Really need some young guys to pan out, seems like we’ve had numerous high profile recruiting misses on essential positions lately

Milroe should never take another snap at QB for the rest of his life in my opinion, but given how bad our coaches have been lately, I wouldn't be surprised if he starts next year

First of all I wouldn't assume that either coordinator will leave. Neither one is a hot commodity on the market.
The only thing that makes me optimistic is Ty Simpson. I think he has a lot of potential. If one of the freshmen can beat him out - even better.

I hear you but you’re talking about hope.
There isn’t something that we can currently hang on out hat on for next season.

He won’t

One of the things that is missing on this years team is the big strong RB. Short yardage we go with Roydell Williams (5' 10" maybe & 210 lbs). If we had someone with size, power, and speed. Having all 3 is not easy to find...unless you look at the QB room.
Milroe is not a great passer but he is one hell of a runner. He is 6' 2" and what? Maybe 220 lbs. He could easily carry another 10 lbs on his frame. He is strong and is one of the fastest guys on the team. Why is he still the #2 QB?
Granted, he might leave if we move him to RB or if Ty takes his spot as QB #2. I still think it is worth the shot. Should he turn out to be a very good RB, maybe he sees the light and stays.
