absolutely zero pitching
That's what I don't understand. I love Butch and want him to stay as long as he wants...........but pitching is where he made his name.

With the structural disadvantages we have there will be gap years. It is what it is.

I think some has to do with the new pitching coach. Different approach and honestly I doubt he is back next year.

Corch, I do not think you have a choice at this point but to play the underclassmen… the team isnt going to improve by continuing to play with the starters

No I’m saying play every one. But give the young guys a chance to get better in game situations. Example on a weekend series let the young guys play Friday night and let the experienced play Saturday and Sunday

And every pitcher gets innings. Save the low leverage situations for the guys whose confidence your worry about destroying but every available arm gets innings from here on out.

I’d be happy if we could find anyone that could give us 4 innings of 2 run ball. I don’t care if it’s a backend guy a middle reliever or a starter.
Plus we don’t make a ton of errors but we don’t really make anything outside of routine.
We have 3 dead bats in the lineup against above average SEC pitching.
Recipe for disaster which we are in

With roster turnover in baseball, you never know exactly what the team may look like but I did not have 2-13 in conference play so far on my bingo card. I know the season isn't over but figured them as a middle of the pack team, I was wrong. 5 more series to go as they start the 2nd half of conf play and I'm not sure where the wins will come from.

I’m disappointed in the coaches ability to either recruit or develop starters. Gonzo was not expected to be here this yr before his injuries. They need to figure this out quickly.

I think it is too late, hope I am wrong.

Screw this yr, I’m talking about the ‘25 season at this point. I don’t see any sophs ready to be a day 1 guy next yr.

I'm not seeing it either. I'm afraid it's portal or bust for us next year.

It’s a win against GaTech 12-8 with some clutch 2 out hitting for a change. Gonzalez gets the mid week start and struggled. Herberholz wasn’t much better but Nelson, Keshock and Carlson did their job.

Looking around the SEC there are some Primo hitters in this league. Jac, Condon, the A&M and UT gang. However the two best teams just may be UK and Arky who are built on P. It’s a unique, yet dominant league this year for sure.

Pitching coach sux. No way Tim trots out this shite. They are all capable but I’ve heard new coach is very mechanical and focuses on shite like spin rate and other seamlessly useless metrics that are more effect of good pitching rather than cause.

Yep the pitching coach has to go. shite all three of them probably need to go. Gabe and Butch should be the only ones that are left after this season. And Gabe might be on the chopping block as well. We strike out way too much for as little power we have through the lineup overall.
I know there have been worse Auburn baseball teams but none feel as bad as this team has competed and performed.

Agree, we look like a poor coached team. Make a lot of errors, poor P and strike out too much. I know Nonemaker is our main recruiter but who recruits the P?
Posted on 4/21/24 at 1:44 pm to attalla
Statistically, the errors and strike outs aren’t near the bottom of the league. But the pitching stats are just what you would think.

Y, thanks Foy I checked to verify as it’s hard to believe. Must be they were in key situations that stuck to me, like Myers failure to cover 1B a couple weeks ago. That drives me craaazzyy.
When the P stinks, cannot afford any extra chances.

AU loads the bases in the bottom of the 7th down 3-1. Irish lines out to right to end the game. Just not their season.
