Starting to see chinks in the armor the last few years with Bama. Several players saying that the "intimidation factor" isn't there anymore. Bama still pulling in top recruiting classes every year, but is the game passing Saban by? Or are other teams just getting better? Transfers and NILs are softening Bama's competitive edge on elite talent.

Saban isn't adjusting defensively

It’s the portal. Guys who were everything in high school aren’t willing to wait.

Bama isn't going to be able to maintain the depth with the transfer portal. There won't be any 5 stars injured that get replaced with another 5 star. It'll happen in some places but not to the degree it had been.

Their talent will still be second to none anyways, but the dominance will recede.

With the 12 team playoff coming and NIL luring players away from their home states, parity is coming. They don’t have to go to Bama, Clemson, and Ohio State to play in the playoffs anymore. I think college football is just getting watered down a bit across the board.

Probably not a bad thing except for the 6 or so teams that have been in or around the playoffs every year so far.

Can you name guys who transferred from Bama because they didn't want to wait and are good at their new school? Drew Sanders is the only name that comes to mind and unclear if he would be starting at Bama.

Bama is getting worse ... until they're getting better.

Some teams are getting better. Some are getting worse.

Yeah I think that the game is changing. The Mullen type of offenses are now stopped effectively.

New systems are here and they are not seen enough yet to counter them.

I think Saban will higher a new mind on DC. An innovative defense. I think the best way to protect against these new offense will be 3-3-5. Rather than traditional SS/FS, you are playing more CBs.

Once that happens all over the SEC, I think we could see the return of a form of Wing T with great passing concepts. Something that the newer defenses no longer see.
