Nice that Bama is nowhere to be found ... but they could still make it. Interesting that Ryan McGee has Oregon in .. Lanning's Ducks have a big game next Saturday against UCLA.

Every single one of them has both Dawgs and new darlings ut in. So I guess they unanimously believe whichever one makes SECcg will beat Alabama

I’d take that.

Wow, one 3-point loss and EVERYBODY has put Bama out to pasture.

I mean, they may take a nosedive, but I’ve seen this story WAY too many times to believe this will be any different than any of their other regular season losses that ended with either a natty or at least a trip to the playoffs.

I think it’s a correlation of Texas, Texas A&M, and Tennessee. All 3 of those games were sloppy, and undisciplined football.

But they are Bama until they aren’t, and Nick will be a politician at the end of the year trying to get his team in.

Yep, apparently the voters haven't seen Tennessee's defensive rankings.
Here's one scenario:
Georgia wins out the regular season and beats Tennessee by 2 TD's.
Bama wins out and beats Georgia in a close game in the SECCG.
Bama and Georgia could get in again and the Vols would be on the outside looking in.

8 of the 13 have 2 SEC schools and 2 BIG10 schools and the current top 4 teams in rankings

I don’t see that happening at all. You still have an undefeated Clemson and could have a 1 loss Oregon whose only loss was to the #1 team in the first game of the year

Hate to take a steamer dump in the punch bowl, but all of this fun speculation goes away in 2 years

I’m sure there’d be lots of passionate debate about whether Wake forest or Illinois or Syracuse might sneak in to the top 12 if we had the commie equity playoff right now

Soak it in. We’re doomed

Yea, it really sucks going to 12. I hate they are doing it….didn’t even have a stop at 6 or 8 first either.

I was talking with a guy at the bar this weekend during games who was excited about. Said it would end all the nonsense of the “deserving teams”

I said there are 68 for March Madness and teams still get pissed that another school made it over them.

He also thinks there will be more big regular season games since teams can afford to lose 1 or 2 games….I said that’s fine, but there won’t be near as much on the line during those games either

I agree. Starting Oct 29th, each and every game the Dawgs play will have impact on determining where they rank in playoff position or if they are eliminated. A loss at this point puts you into the survive and advance stage (Bama). In another couple years with playoff expansion, winning the late season game(s) to make the playoff will not be as pressure filled as it is now.

are your picks supposed to make sense as far as seeding or do you just get to pick 4 teams?

im not sure that ohio state at 1 and georgia at 2 is even possible?

i dont really mind being the sec guy, especially on this board, but if georgia is 2 and ohio state 1, you're implying that uga wins the sec, no? well guess what that means. we would be 1.

quote:

Heather Dinich: 1. Ohio State 2. Georgia 3. Tennessee 4. Michigan

this, for example is not possible. tennessee at 3 AND no bama means that you have a 13-0 georgia. that means we are number 1 and there wouldn't be a question about it. no critical thinking put into these picks whatsoever.

What I see is a lot of knee jerk reactions to Bama losing....possibly for clickbait only.
Bama is still Bama talent wise and I fully expect them to win out and play in the SECCG. If that happens, cooler heads will prevail and most likely, unless they lose in embarrassing fashion they will still make the playoffs. I do look for 2 SEC teams to get in. It's so common of an assumption now in the media that it's an unwritten law just as strong as the assumption Bama is still Bama. They WILL get the benefit of the doubt until THEY prove otherwise. Is it right? That's debatable, but it IS reality and that's not debatable.

I think they should have went to 8 teams. There's such a gap in parity between the first 2-3 and everyone else, the top 8 would have quashed any SANE( note the quantifier: SANE) debate over whether the most deserving got a shot.

This is just ESPN eel suckers stroking an invisible cat, this isn't the actual Playoff Committee rankings, right?

When do the real ones start?

Surprised how tough our end of season got. Maybe it will be good for us. Hoping defense stays healthy and gets better as we go.
