I've got Tennessee #1 this week and you should too

Unless you think UGA's win over Oregon was more impressive. Seriously, though, I can't stand the vols or their fans, but tell me why they aren't the #1 team come Monday?

You don't have a vote.

How does beating the number 3 team make you the number 1 team?

IMO
1. Georgia
2. Ohio St
3. Tennessee

I'll answer that if you tell me who UGA beat this season to be number 1.

Mississippi State reached #1 here while back, so why not….

Every team we’ve played. We’ve collectively out scored our opponents by 230 points. I wouldn’t care if UT was ranked 1, I just don’t see how beating number 3 makes it automatic when the current 1 wins by 55.

It's really not that hard to figure out. #1 was just there as a place holder because they finished last year #1 and hadn't lost yet. They haven't played a top team yet and even had a few lackluster weeks. Now in week 8, another team that's also undefeated and has just beaten a top team gets rewarded. It won't happen because pollsters are largely stupid, but it should.

Honestly, on a neutral field, UT is probably an underdog to UGA, OSU and maybe even Michigan (who had a pretty convincing top 10 win today). Who really cares at this point. Vols get to play UGA in a couple of weeks. That’s all that matters.

What makes Bama a top team? They were just there “as a placeholder” because they finished strong last year and hadn’t lost yet, they even struggled with some mediocre teams.
It’ll all work out. I don’t think the polls are going to drop us after winning 55-0.

Tennessee would be an underdog to Alabama even if they played again next week.

So you understand that preseason rankings are bullshite. Alabama under Saban is really the team that is somewhat a known quantity. They may not be a championship team every year, but they're guaranteed one of the best 5-10 teams. UGA hasn't played anyone (which you tacitly acknowledge) and UT is the only undefeated team that has beaten a top team, according to the same polls that are responsible for ranking teams tomorrow.
It doesn't matter, since UGA and UT play, but they should still be #1 tomorrow.

Whether true or not, this is irrelevant. It's not true, though.

Are they? We have finished the following in order since 2017:
2/7/4/7/1
I’d say we can be pretty certain that and undefeated UGA team in week 8, who has scored 290 points and given up 60 or so is a top 5-10 team. And you keep saying we haven’t beaten a top team, but Oregon is going to be top 10 this week…we beat them by 46.

It's 100% true, especially if it was at a neutral site.
I'm not sure why you think 1 team losing to another is automatically going to make the loser seen as an underdog in a rematch.

I can live with UT at number 1....
...for now.

But you're the only good team Oregon's played. There are at least 25 teams that could lose to UGA by 6 tds and then beat the teams they've beaten.
Tennessee has the only win over a real-deal-Holyfield team this year.

You played even with the #3 team and squeaked out a win at home. Congrats. That doesn’t make you #1.
