This is only Heupel 2nd year.

Saban came into an equally bad or worse situation at Bama and went 12-0 in year 2. He won the SEC in year 2 at LSU.

Chizik won a NC at AU in year 2.

Kirby Smart was an OT loss away from a NC in year 2.

Les won the West in year 1 and a NC in year 3.

Gus was NC runner up in year 1.

is he a Gus/Chizik or a Smart/Saban?

The Georgia game is bigger than this one when you talk about post season play. Win or lose this game UT still has a chance for Atlanta and the playoffs.

This will take a lot out of TN win or lose because of the hype and emotions around this game.

Probably because of this

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. -- No. 3 Alabama coach Nick Saban told ESPN on Friday that quarterback Bryce Young is on track to play Saturday at No. 6 Tennessee, but that the final decision will be made during pregame warmups.

"He's done a lot more in practice this week and thrown a lot more than he did a week ago," Saban said. "He wants to play and feels like he's healthy enough to play. We'll know for sure once he gets on the field, starts throwing and how he feels then."

That's not how he sees it.

This will be an incredible college football game and matter for all the right reasons, but I agree.

Both teams can lose and make Atlanta and the CFB.

You guys have written checks your butts can't cash. You have created a fantasy in your mind that two days ago y'all were absolutely convinced the streak would end. Why has the bravado suddenly ceased??? Now this game doesn't really matter and you change the narrative to "this is only his second year, we don’t expect him to win." Tennessee is going to be humbled tomorrow on your own field. Go on, pass the mustard... the refs stole it from you

I don't know much abot UT, but they used to have great recievers.

Bama gonna kick that arse. Any good reciever UT has will sprain an ankle or something to keep his NFL hopes alive.

What does that mean?

Bama wins by only 9?

UT fans are gonna be cranked. The meth labs will sell more than ever this weekend.

Who is Hadden? Haven't seen UT play this year and don't know the roster well.

Another DB. With McCullough out it would hurt us a great deal if Hadden is also out.

I don’t think most people understand what a betting line is or what it’s purpose really is. The vegas odds maker select a line to try to keep the money equal on the game, Vegas is taking a cut not a position. They want it 50/50 so they can guarantee they make 15%, which is nice gig. The odds makers set the opening line based upon data they have that will be of interest to make money 50/50. At this time of the season they are really good at it. As more money goes toward one side the change the line to keep it even.

Like on the posters said he didn’t like bama at -9 but he took it at -7, as more people do this the line moves back up. THEY ARE NOT PREDICTING WHO WILL WIN, Ever.

They are responding to who the betting public thinks will win to keep money as close to 50/50 as possible

Currently last time I checked 70% are taking TN and the points. Kinda surprised the line hasn't moved lower. it's not close to 50/50.... LINK
