Go to A Dopo for pizza.

Other good options: Kefi, Sticky Rice Cafe, Kaizen, Yassin's, Stock and Barrel, Abridged, Marble City Market, Foothills Milling or Walnut Kitchen (both in Maryville)

Babalu is a popular dining option with a Cuban/Latin lean.

Also a chain. Not bad but a chain

Dreamland is not even the best barbecue in Tuscaloosa.
No kidding.

I eat out a fair bit because I’m always on the go and couldn’t tell you the last time I went there.

Ah. The OP is from Texas. They won't know the difference.
Its been years, but there was a place in Texarkana I stopped at some years ago that was pretty good. Can’t remember the name though

Chesapeake’s is a good recommendation

Copper Cellar Downstairs on Cumberland is great if you can get in.

Connors in Turkey Creek (west) is good along with Chop House.

Ye Old Steak House is solid.

Foothills Milling or Walnut Kitchen

Walnut is nice but expensive for what it is. If you are looking to leave Knoxville then trailhead steak and trout in Townsend or the Riverstone Cafe in Townsend.

A side trip to Collegedale is recommended. Ask for Debbie.

If you haven't been to Foothills Milling, you need to go there. It's hands-down the best place up this way.

Dancing Bear Cafe in Townsend is pretty decent as well.

Love Trailhead. One of my favorites.

East Tennessee, while beautiful and one of my favorite areas in the country, has disappointing food.

It’s on the list. But just so many good options in the area. The only thing I can’t find is a good bavarian restaurant. Blount county has everything from Thai to Irish with most things in between.
