KJ isn’t going pro, well not getting drafted.

So does he come back next year?
Does Hornsby stay or go to a G5 school?

KJ needs to try and go pro. His prospects won't be any better after another year. If he stays Hornsby is gone. Hornsby might be gone anyway though. No matter what happens we will be in the market for a transfer this offseason.

Have to assume if KJ comes back, Hornsby transfers out. With our current roster, that leaves Kade Renfro, who will be a redshirt junior next season, and Rykar Acebo who I assume will be a redshirt freshman next year.

Renfro's Razorback bio is not terribly impressive. 3 star #27 pro-style pocket passer. Acebo went for over 3000 yards and 39 touchdowns as a senior in Jonesboro, but he must be a walk-on or PWO, because he isn't on our recruiting list.

I think Jefferson goes when he shouldn't and Hornsby takes his spot.

I do agree that this staff needs to get a QB from the portal that will push Hornsby as I don't trust him as the starter yet.

Yeah, didn't check the 2023 class. I realize dual threat is the direction we've gone, but I hate it at the college or pro level. They are pretty much guaranteed to get hurt eventually, just like KJ is now, and Malik was last week. There may not have been anyone who could knock fire out of their arse in high school, but there will always be those guys in college and the pros.

ETA: One has to wonder why we have 2 pro-style quarterbacks on the roster, if Briles offense calls for a dual threat quarterback. Maybe those who rightly bitch about Odom's recruiting can explain that one also.

I don't really think his offense needs a mobile QB, but it definitely helps. Bryce Petty, Jarrett Stidham and Seth Russell aren't really what I would consider dual threats back at Baylor.

He’s not likely to get drafted or make a team. He can make practice squad money in NIL. I think he’ll be back.

Stidham was listed as a 4* dual threat. Russell was listed as pro style. Can't find Petty. I guess maybe he can make either work, as long as they can move around a little. Sure would love to see this offense with a QB who can really make the throws.

Another year would make no difference, a player can only make so much improvement. He already put his name in last year to see if he was graded high enough to be drafted. He came back because he was encouraged to do so.

He will risk it all coming back and getting hurt could ruin his draft status.

This is the QB that Briles needs, and yet in year 3 he doesn't have "that guy"

I don’t think he has a draft status. He’s not listed on kipper’s top 10 qbs

He would get drafted in at 4-6 rounds. It would be hard pressed for him to get drafted in 1-3 rounds when he has reached close to his ceiling. Also Arkansas could be losing most of the offensive line and some WRs as well next year.

It is becoming more rare now than in the past for any QB to stay four or five years. He isn't going to make the same level improvement from 2020 to 2021. What his issues are is mental and not physical. What we are seeing this year is peak Jefferson and another year isn't going to change much.

If Franks is a TE now, then KJ definitely isn’t playing QB. He has the body of a great tight end though.

Briles has only really missed on Hornsby, right?

The other QB he recruited left because KJ came back and isn’t playing down in Houston yet.

All that being said, if he comes back because non draftable, he needs to check tight end.

He isn't fast enough to be a TE IMO. He MIGHT get drafted as a late round QB if he finishes well. Still half a season to play.

Really? He looks, to the untrained eye, as fast as AJ Derby, and many others...

How fast are TE's Usually?
